About the film
IT’S OKAY is a thriller built on shadows—the things we see, the things we don’t, and the things we refuse to confront. It’s about survivors who walk among us, carrying the weight of the past in ways no one else can understand. It’s about the systems that try to rehabilitate them, but fail to erase what’s been done.
This is not just a story about human trafficking or trauma—it’s a story about resilience, identity, and the terrifying realization that even after escape, the past is never truly behind you.

She thought she was helping a little girl in trouble. But the deeper she searched, the closer she came to a truth buried inside her.
Sinopsis
Amelia delivers coffee and pastries by day, stealing quiet moments between stops to sketch the homes she can’t quite call her own. It’s a fragile ritual—one that helps her feel calmed. But when a frightened girl appears in front of her car and disappears without a trace, Amelia’s search for answers begins to crack open something buried inside her.
As she retraces her steps, the line between memory and reality begins to blur. What begins as a mystery about a child in danger becomes something far more personal—a quiet unraveling of trauma, identity, and the shadows we carry long after the world insists we’re okay.
[LEAD] AMELIA (Female, 20–25)
Description: Quiet, emotionally layered, intuitive. Amelia is a survivor—though she doesn’t fully realize it yet. Her face must carry complexity: fear, compassion, confusion, and strength in silence. Looking for a strong expressive actress with the ability to communicate deep internal emotion without dialogue.
[SUPPORTING] LITTLE GIRL (Female, 5–10)
Description: Silent, expressive, almost ghostlike. Must be able to communicate fear, curiosity, and vulnerability without dialogue. A powerful non-verbal performance is key.
[SUPPORTING] COFFEE SHOP MANAGER (Male, 35–50)
Description: He is the boss. No time for small talks. "Just do your job" style.
[SUPPORTING] ALVARO (Male, 35–50, all ethnicities)
Description: Soft-spoken, calm, intelligent. Alvaro presents as a counselor, mentor-like and warm—but beneath the surface, he's hiding truths. A character with duality: empathy and authority, comfort and control.
Casting Call
[SUPPORTING] AUNT CLARA (Female, 40–55)
Stern but not cruel. Clara is controlling under the guise of care. She’s not a villain, but her actions echo manipulation masked as concern. A woman who thinks she’s doing what’s right—even if she’s erasing someone in the process.
[SUPPORTING] THE DOCTOR (Male, 60–75, all ethnicities)
Description: Cold, calculated. A senior figure in the reintegration program. Rarely shows emotion. Every word is measured. He operates like a man above consequences.
[FEATURED] POLICE OFFICER (Male, 40–60, all ethnicities)
Description: Eerily calm. Speaks like everything is fine—but there's a tension underneath. His warmth feels wrong, a mask.
[FEATURED] YOUNG MAN (COFFEE SHOP CUSTOMER) (Male, 25–35, all ethnicities)
Description: Light comic relief. Flirty, warm, doesn’t overstay. Helps reveal Amelia’s social discomfort early on.
